DJGPP and DJGPP programs require a bit of setup before they will work

Umm... I'm not quite sure what you mean, but there are certain things
related to long filenames that DJGPP programs can have problems with. 
See below for more information.

Yes.  The djgpp\bin directory MUST be in your PATH.

You should never need to modify DJGPP.ENV, at least not that part of
it.  But you must insert a variable called DJGPP into your system
environment as indicated by the readme.1st file for DJGPP.  This is done
in your autoexec.bat, and should look like so:

SET DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV

Of course, if you put DJGPP somewhere else, modify this accordingly.

You should get the file 'v2/readme.1st' from SimTel and read it
thoroughly.  It tells you exactly what you need to download and gives
instructions on setting it all up.  I strongly recommend getting more
than just the minimum required files; you will need the FAQ
(v2/faq202b.zip), Info (v2gnu/txi390b.zip), Make (v2gnu/mak375b.zip),
cwsdpmi (v2misc/csdpmi3b.zip), and probably gdb (v2gnu/gdb416b.zip).

Also, if you encounter any bugs in RHIDE, you should check out Robert
Hoehne's web site for the latest release information:
