The directory was ZONEINFO and contains time/date information (in 
short) for all the timezones of our globe. What it is for, you ask? 
Well, the idea comes from Unix (probably) and the goal is to enable 
various programs to adapt their time/date display to the current 
timezone (if you look at the header of my message you should see my 
timezone is +0100 which means my time is one hour ahead of Greenwich 
time, or GMT - for short).
