Where did you get that `dir.exe'?  Is it from the DJGPP port of GNU 
Fileutils 3.13?  If not, please download v2gnu/fil313b.zip from the DJGPP 
archives and install ls from there.  It should have no problems dealing 
with such filenames.  (And btw, why does `ls' call `dir.exe'?)
