Thanks, but I just finished patching gzip 1.2.4 to correctly use LFN's 
under DJGPP.  I'm just trying to figure out how best to provide the 
patches to everyone (I've never done this before).

It will be up soon (and properly announced I hope :), so feel free to 
download it.
