This is too slow for a Pentium.  Jurgen, I'd estimate you should go down
to about 4 seconds on a well-tuned system.  Be sure to read sections 3.9,
7.1 and 7.2 of the DJGPP FAQ list (available as v2/faq202b.zip from the 
same place you get DJGPP) and set your system using the advice there.

No.  GCC doesn't support this.

There is no other compiler like that.

DJGPP compiles at about half the speed of BC on the same machine, 
unless the source file is *real* small.  If you don't get this 
performance, your system needs tuning.
