Well, I did make some recommendations earlier, but I should add that I
know of no way to turn off that particular warning.  If you can't find a
better way to do it, and your code doesn't crash, then you'll just have
to live with it AFAIK.  ;)  But don't take me as the absolute authority
- look in the gcc docs (info gcc) and look up the various command line
options dealing with warnings.  It may be that it's possible to turn
that warning off for that module alone, but I do NOT recommend this -
that's a very nice warning to have around most times.  It has saved me
from making a major mistake at least twice.  :)
