Actually with all the  utilities that came with djgpp 2.01  it feels unixier than
ever. But I agree; one of the reasons I (not without some regret) removed
my Linux  partition was that I wasn't doing anything really concrete with it.
It's not so much the fact that games can be hard to get working, or that my
worthless vid card hates X window, it is indeed that isolated feeling you get
when everyone else around is using MSDOG and Win95. Once I got the distribution
installed, kernels recompiled, settings tweaked to hearts desire, accounts for
me, my girlfriend and my pet rabbit, and the C/C++/objectiveC/fortran/Ada/
smalltalk/lisp compilers busily sitting there I kind of .. ran out of ideas ..
