About setdjgpp:
MSC:
SET HELP=/where/ever/the/help/files/are
SET LIB=/where/the/heck/are/the/libs
[Lots of other SETs forgotten]
BC: A bit easier, admittedly.
Directory System:
BC:
BC\BIN
BC\LIB
BC\INCLUDE

I can see no essential difference.

I think the readme.1st says pretty clearly what zips you need to
get started, and which might be of further interest. OK, maybe one
could adopt the emTeX distribution scheme, with something like

v2/basic/disk[1-xx]/
v2/develop/disk[1-xx]/
v2/source/disk[1-xx]
where basic/disk1 would contain a readme.1st or how.to, and an unzip.exe

Hmm. Maybe I'm already too spoiled by knowledge, but what exactly
do you need? Everything that goes beyond how to make a "hello world"
is either better found in a good C book and independant of the compiler,
or that machine-specific that it is of little interest for a newbie.

Well, if you really want to contribute, have a look at
http://www2.ari.net/flyboy/
sit down for an hour and write something. This project lacks
a comprehensive introduction. So just go ahead.
