It is possible, via the VIP and VTCP vxd's (3.11 anyway).  Unfortunatly,
they seem to be undocumented and I barely made any progress
dissasembling them as I (for now) have more important things.  If you're
interrested, I can send you the IDA files I have. (IDA= Interactive
DisAssembler, on Hobbes I think and maybe even simtel and x2ftp)

I can also send you the IDA files for ping.exe which is a M$ dos (yes
dos) program that uses those vxd's (thats how I found out about them).
