May be the reason is, that this driver does not support the
"install user handler function", because this is used by RHIDE to get
the mouse events from the driver. Do you have any chance to get a newer
version to test it??

I can't imagine, that the problem comes from the less memory, because
this
should be in any cases enough to run gcc. As Eli already answered, I
would
suggest you to use cwsdpmi and see, if the problem is still there. If
not,
you have problably a wrong DPMI server. (Which you are using??)
