The GCC compiler error messages are generally plain and precise.  What you
have encountered is not an error message, but rather a warning message. 
GCC did allow you to use the C++ automatic typecasting.

Still, if you want to find out about all the error messages, maybe you
should look into the source files?  InfoMagic (www.infomagic.com) sell
Linux CD sets that include the full GNU archive for $25.00, although you
should really buy the CD from FSF (wGNUww.fsf.org) for $60.00+donation.
