Hmmm... This all talks about problems with network drives force me to
remember one bug (or feature) of particulary Novell DOS requester. I
don't know if it is same in other shells but i think it'll be usefull
never the less.
So. let's imagine you have server `test' and a volume `sys' on it.
and you map it to the drive H: like
map root h:=test\sys:\
But DOS requester supprot true names, so if you ask for a true name of a
file H:\test.exe you'll get
\\test\sys\test.exe
No problem yet. But if you'll try to use `cd \\test\sys\..' WOW! it'll
crash the mapping and will give you volume list for the dir ...
I'll rephrase : using true names in file operations on the top of Novell
DOS requester ignore drive mappings and may even remap them.
