I'm one of those newbes as well and yes I started off on BC4.
I was told that there were prob's with dj so I left it.
Then this summer I gave it a go and I LOVE IT!!!

True I'v spent hours on hours altering code ( I'm writing a space sim
thing )from BC to dj but hell I liked BC c/c++. Hell the only resone
why I'v not done "deltree bc" is because I like the IDE [as a text
editer, it's the colour thing :-)]

But dj is the best thing I'v come across in a long time :-). I'm
very very poor and getting WHATcom C was out of my buget in the end!
I the end these far far far more code ete ete out there for dj than
anything else and I would be going mad if I was still using bad old
16bit code.

By the way Allego is brill, I'm finding it a god send. I'm working
on a 3d enginne which hopfully sit on top of Allego but it's ither
a)one papers on my living room floor (realy getting to my house
mates) or b)in two source file. It's a totel rewrite (Z-buffering or
if I can find time and work it out S-buffering) but time is not some
thing I have at this point. Well I'm getting off subject but about
code for us newbes, yes I'm only starting to get to grips with DPMI!

Sorry about the spelling but my brain is wired wronge! carn't help
it!

Richard....
