  This is a copy of the announcement sent to c.o.l.a.  While curves
  does not yet compile for DJGPP, it will before v1.0.  If anyone uses
  GNU/Linux and CVS, I'd appreciate feedback.

Version 0.6.0 of CurVeS, a screen-oriented UI for CVS version
control, is released.  The primary distribution site is

Sick and tired of that using that buggy source control software that
cost you hundreds of dollars...per developer?  Want a UI with menus
and file lists?  CVS is fast and full of great features, but it has
one of those boring command line interfaces.

Perhaps CurVeS is for you.  This release is for GNU/Linux and POSIX
only, but work is under way for making it available for DOS/Windows,
Windows95 and Windows/NT.

This is an ALPHA release which means that it is being distributed with
the intention of gathering feedback from potential users.  While there
are many features missing from the planned v1.0, this version
implements a useful subset of the target features.

  o Color coded (where available) directory listing that highlights
    edited files, new files, and other source control attributes.
  o Automatically sense binary format when adding files to a project.

Description:    CurVeS performs two functions.  It provides a menu and
		command completion interface to CVS so that
		inexperienced users can learn the features of CVS
		without documentation.  This also involves adding some
		meta-features that are built from CVS commands which
		are used together in some common-use circumstances.
		The second function of Curves is to provide visual
		presentation of a project directory so that the status
		of each file is comprehensible at a glance.  CurVeS
		uses color, when available, to accent the file
		classification marks.
