Just as an update, in case anybody was withholding help for lack of 
information, when I do a GrCreateContext with GRX20 in 32k color mode 
(RGB), it return a NULL, every time. (This was the reason, IMHO, of 
my previous odd errors). This is confusing, as I was led to believe 
that if GrCreateContext was invoked with NULL for both memory and 
where, it would allocate them within the routine. Apparently, it 
doesn't, so can someone _please_ give a working snippet? If somebody 
really want's to see my source, I'll send it, but its kinda long, and 
I'd rather not spam unnecessarily.
