Subject: Emacs 19.34 and Windows 3.1

I'm having difficulty to run Emacs in ONE specific machine in a DOS box
under Windows 3.1.

I perused all the "obvious" things, and could not find anything in the
configuration that can be traced to be the 'culprit'.

The bug manifest the following way: One starts Emacs (it is started w/the
PIF file from the distribution, BTW); after the initial screen appears,
keying C-x C-c (to exit) blanks the screen and freezes the machine,
requiring a cold restart.
This is the minimum set of commands that produce reproducible results. One
another (albeit more stochastic) way, is just to start Emacs and keep
editing, soon or alter the same occurs!

Output of go32 at the DOS box is as follows:

C:\WORK>go32-v2
go32/v2 version 2.0 built Jan 23 1996 22:03:02
Usage: go32 coff-image [args]
Rename this to go32.exe only if you need a go32 that can run v2 binaries as
well as v1 binaries (old makefiles). Put ahead of the old go32 in your PATH.
DPMI memory available: 13044 Kb
DPMI swap space available: 0 Kb

I think this is related, so just in case, notice that if I run say GCC, the
outcome from go32 changes to:

C:\WORK>gcc
gcc.exe: No input files

C:\WORK>go32-v2
go32/v2 version 2.0 built Jan 23 1996 22:03:02
Usage: go32 coff-image [args]
Rename this to go32.exe only if you need a go32 that can run v2 binaries as
well as v1 binaries (old makefiles). Put ahead of the old go32 in your PATH.
DPMI memory available: 704 Kb
DPMI swap space available: 11880 Kb

As a last clue, some usual test programs like the GRX 2.0, bcc2grx, even all
from the GNAT suite compile and run from the DOS box w/o trouble.

The Emacs binaries that cause this run flawlessly in other six machines of
various configurations.

All suggestions are wellcome!
