For the language proper, Stroustrup "The C++ Programming Language" has to
be the best book.  For DJGPP, Eli's FAQ.

I don't know if it's relevant, but Steve Qualline's "Windows Programming
with Borland C++ - Covers Through Version 4.0" is the worst C++ book I ever
bought.
