ooopppssssss....I just tried "puts" and then I tried "printf" and both of
them are working!  I usually use printf when I use C.  So, my first advice
to you may not have been helpful to use printf instead of puts.

That is how it is taught in many schools John, in introductory C++ CS
courses!  To the point that it is mentally engrained!
