First, I'd like to thank everybody who posted to this thread for this
unanimous support. For that matter, thank you slade AT wolfenet DOT com for
letting me know how much people appreciate my way of trying to help them.

I could never state my case better then you did for me, so I'll just add
a few short comments.

What I really try to do is help people find the answers, not pounce upon
them. I quote the FAQ because this is shorter than quote *from* the FAQ,
but also because people other than whoever posted the original question
might consider re-reading those FAQ sections to learn more about the issue
at hand. It is also (as Morten had pointed out) an effective way of
posting the FAQ to this news group without invading everybody's privacy
with all 300,000-odd bytes of the full FAQ text. Some people don't know
that the FAQ exists, or where exactly to get it, so I usually tell its
location.

If the wording I choose needs some work to make it less offending to some
people, you will have to forgive me: English is not my first language
after all (not even my second, as a matter of fact). But I can assure you
I have no intent whatsoever to sound as a moralist, and I will welcome any
suggestions to amend my wording to make this as explicit as I can.

Believe it or not, I have life outside DJGPP, and other interests to
pursue. There are two methods of convincing me to post less. One is
simply to stop asking questions that I can answer. The other is to tell
me to stop annoying people and shut up. Since none of the above will
probably happen anytime soon, you are stuck with me, at least for a while.

Believe me, I'm a single human, not another case of Bourbaki.
