Got it for years (emTeX) ;-)

Sorry, but that is wrong.
The texinfo-3.7.tar.gz contains texinfo version 2.151 (just taken from
ftp.DANTE.de), the one in /djgpp/info is version 2.145 (unless this changed
since Februaray). The old version works (kind of), the new one fails on the 
second run. The ``kind of'' means that identifiers (nodes, to be precise) 
starting with ``_'' yield the output in the main text
_
strold
 bla bla

instead of

_strold
 bla bla

xrefs, toc, etc. are ok.

For the emTeX users it is
tex386 -mt14000 -ms 4000 libc
and after one minute you have 504 pages of dvi. 

But we are getting slightly off-topic, and a friendly
guru at umb.edu is having a look at this.
