I've got an old PC (not an XT, a /PC/, as in before the XT) lying
around, and was wondering if I could arrange GDB's console I/O to go
to a terminal emulator on it via a serial line from my PC, thus
providing a snazzy debug console.

How would I go about this, before I buy a serial card and cable?

Would:

GDB myprog < com2: > com2:

work? It'd be a bit awkward that DOS level IO from my app might get
redirected (do exception dumps go to stdout?), although my software is
mostly graphical with custom keyboard handlers and all that (thus the
snaziness of remote debugging!)

The GDB dox say little about this, other than that the debuggee shares
stdout and stdin... it'd be kinda cool if this could be changed...

Thanx,

ABW
