I got a similar problem:
If I start mikmod.exe from the Norton Commander under DOS it only works,
when I stubedit mikmod.exe to have a bigger real-mode transfer buffer
(32k or more). From the DOS command line it works ok.
Strange thing,isnt it ?
I dont know if that works with your environment, but try it.
