Elvis 2.0 is still in beta test, currently up to version 2.0p. The
sources can be found on ftp.cs.pdx.edu in the directory
/pub/elvis/unreleased. There are also a couple of archives there which
contain various executables--I think there's a DOS one and perhaps a
win32 one.
Announcements of each release can also be found periodically in the
newsgroup comp.editors.
I've compiled 2.0p on DOS with DJGPP and it seems to work great, as
far as I can tell. I did have to chop just a teeny bit at a couple of
the modules in the osmsdos directory, though. I can send you the details
if you wish.
It also supposedly compiles nicely with MSVC++, but I don't have that
particular compiler with which to try it.
