As additional input I just spent a few days trying to port a large program
from Unix that I had no interest in ever seeing the insides of.  It compiled
and ran the first time with DJGPP and I was never able to get it working
with Cygnus gnu-win32 (I'll admit when it did not work the first time and
it did with DJGPP I did not work too much longer on it).
