If it crashes without any message, then what does ``crashes'' mean?  Does
it hang your machine?  If so, does Ctrl-Alt-Del reboot it or do you need a
hardware reset?  Can you guess what does the program do when it crashes?

Did you try to run it under debugger and see where does it crash?  If 
debugger won't help for some reason, you can always insert printf 
statements to zero in on the part of program that crashes.
