GDB sure works for me under DOS.  You will have to post the details: the 
source of a minimal program that exhibits this problem, and a script of 
GDB commands that you used before it crashes, together with the GDB 
output at the moment of crash.

Also, please post the output of the "DIR GDB.EXE" when run in the `bin' 
subdirectory of your DJGPP main installation directory.
