i don't post here very often but since this thread is about the special requirements 
of newbies, i feel like adding my two cents worth.

i think the FAQ is fine as it is. i agree with eli that the indexing takes care of 
locating information -- especially with the HTML version. as a newbie myself, i 
found out early on that having the technical info available was crucial to doing 
anything useful. most of the time, common sense and the FAQ are enough to solve my 
problems, which means i can, happily, stay away from the info docs ;-)

anyway, my thanks go to everyone involved in the development and support of DJGPP 
and flames go to those who ask the ever boring structure size and "why so fat" 
questions.
