I just looked at my files, and the patch was simply to correct the
file handle numbers associated with stdprn and stdaux.  So the
reason the SIGSEGV didn't occur before the patch was that stdprn
was pointing to the wrong stream.  In the fixed version, the bug
seems to have appeared.
