Any thoughts on what might or should be done about that Ctrl-C problem
under QDPMI?  Can I test something to get you more info?  I feel so bad
about this I might even try to fix it although I don't know enough about
what's going on.  (Imagine: you shell out to DOS from Emacs, run some v2
program, press Ctrl-C to interrupt it, and suddenly you can't return to
your precious buffers because QDPMI has killed Emacs too!)
