This is what the makefile looks like in 'vi' under Linux

Here's a hexdump ... as you can see there's a '09' for the
backspace ....

Yet when I run it either in straight dos or under
dosemu 0.63.1.8 I get
that error at line 5 .... has me beat!
Any other ideas greatly appreciated
