Rejoice!  The next version of GNU Find port to DJGPP has special actions 
-dosexec and -dosok that does this slash conversion automagically, so you 
just say

	find \cprogs -name "*.o" -dosexec del {} ;

and that's it!  (Btw, there is no need to quote the semicolon on MS-DOS.)
When DJ has time, he will put the new port on SimTel.
