Try to stubedit ld.exe and enlarge the transfer buffer to 64k.  If it 
helps, please tell more about your system (hardware and software), in 
particular if you run DJGPP from a networked drive.  Some people has 
reported that link is much faster after stubediting ld.exe, but nobody 
has provided an explanation of this phenomenon.
