Thanks for the info.  The next version of the FAQ will correct that.

If the recognition of the video hardware is based on acessing I/O ports 
with IN and OUT instructions (or `inp' and `outp' functions or their 
relatives), then the problem might be that WinNT doesn't usually let an 
application access I/O ports.
