Yes, SWORD is based on GRX. It *can* work with grx1 too (no problem with it
I think). I don't know about your problem with mouse driver. Can't you
try another mouse driver ?

Can you be a little more precise about what you search. If it is just
compression algorithms : 
	1. look into GNU GZIP source code (same place from where you get djgpp)
	2. look into JPEG compression/decompression library. Lot of stuff :
	   DCT, Huffman, LZW (beware : LZW is patented !)...
