What setup are you using pray tell? I have a similar, and probably much
smaller setup, a 386/33 with 4MB of RAM, and it compiles and links an
8000-line ray tracing program I have relatively quickly (30 minutes, more
or less!). I also use HIMEM and CWSDPMI for DPMI services (which I suppose
you use also). That leaves me with 3MB of physical memory. What else do
you have?

And regarding Windows 95...The DOS box in Win95 is similar to the DOS box
in Windows 3.1, meaning for us that it already provides DPMI services
automatically. So you don't have to worry about CONFIG.SYS devices or
anything like that. In fact, Win95 insulates the user from a great deal of
the technical stuff that old DOS users have had to put up with in the
past, much to the chagrin of people who have to configure it for odd
systems...Actually, IMVHO, Windows 95 has set a landmark in making its
users look incredibly stupid. Like the old adage, build a system that even
an idiot can use, only idiots will want to use it... :)
