Subject: sigv with ld on Linux cross compile

I am tring to produce a gcc cross compiler hosted on Linux. I followed
the faq with-out error and produced the binutils and compiler.

Binutils are 2.5.2, and gcc 2.7.0.

xgcc compiled a hello world program with-out error, how-ever the
linker dies with a sigv (11) in 'load_symbols'. The actual fault
occurs when accessing the bfd library. The file being processed by the
linker is crt0.o.

I am sorry I do not have any further details as they are on a
different machine I cannot get at from here.

Any suggestions would be great.

The linux kernel is 1.2.13 ELF.
