I've a couple off-topic questions, but I've no place to post them anyway.

(1) How do I determine what kind of mouse is connected to the PC (Microsoft,
Mouse Systems, none)? After that, how do I find which port is it connected to
(COM1 or COM2)? And finally, what is meant by `mouse hardware reset', done
by the driver function 00h?

(2) Is it possible to make the Scitech's UniVBE driver provide VBE 2.0 Linear
framebuffer services on every SVGA card? I've Trident 9440 with VBE 1.2 on
board, but I can't get linear framebuffer to work with UniVBE, while my friend
told me he managed it on a card that's older than mine and even not VBE 1.2
compatible. So what gives: am I trying to do the impossible, or am I just
something wrong? Or is my friend mistaken? Or maybe I need a registered copy
of UniVBE? P.S.: the version is 5.11, I think.

Any kind of information would be appreciated. TIA.
