Hi,

I am looking for a unix shell replacement for the msdos command.com that can
boot the machine into MSDOS and additionally windows 95.

I read the gnuish sources at the normal cites and tried to set up the version
of teh MSHELL there so that it was the default shell.

1) The 16 bit version boots my machine perfectly but will not load win95 after
the booting. I assume that this is because it is a 16 bit application ??
Win 95 startup fails with failure to start teh virtual memory manager.
2) Teh 32 bit version will not boot my machine at all. I get dos4gw errors
about failure to load "the stub".

Although I am familiar with Unix, I do not have compiler to use to debug thet
code. Is there a better shell out there that will boot windows (Or
more detailed instructions for settingit up). The author no longer has a valid
address.

The author alludes to an NT port of the shell but I cannot find it anywhere.
Maybe this port will load windows '95. Does anyone know where it is ?
