Not entirely true.  DJGPP indeed makes porting Unix programs very easy, 
but it is also intended for writing native DOS protected-mode 
applications.

Did you get the DJGPP FAQ list?  It's in the v2 directory, file 
faq200b.zip.  Read the first 4 chapters there, they should give you 
enough background to get you started.  The file v2/readme.1st is also 
recommended reading for firts-time users.

If, after that, you have questions, just ask them here.  Tutorials are in 
short supply in DJGPP (aren't they everywhere?), but people who are 
willing to help you by answering questions aren't.
