Until I saw the V2 FAQ, yesterday, I had not been informed of the need to 
modify the registry. All I did was set LFN=Y in autoexec.bat.

So far, I have only recompiled a few programs under v2, but I have not 
yet seen any problems with names such as a.b.c.
