Subject: gcc v2 won't find headers (FAQ s8.1 no help)

Hi users,

I've just installed v2 and the compiler won't find header files. This is
mentioned in the FAQ, however I have satisfied all the requirements
stated in the relevant section(8.1), so obviously there is another problem not
mentioned.

I get
file.c:1: stdio.h: No such file or directory (ENOENT)

I checked the archive of old posts topic'ed "headers" and found advice to
type gcc file.c -v. Given the geographical seperation of my pc and my unix
machine, and that I want to use djgpp this weekend and don't want to
reinstall v1, I got rang my sister and got her to type this for me.
Apparently it prints out a few paragraphs of things like
" ...c:\djgpp\bin\ld.exe not found..."

(v2 was installed in c:\djgpp)

Any ideas?

Here is my autoexec.bat file

@ECHO OFF
PROMPT $p$g
PATH c:\DOS;c:\djgpp\include;c:\djgpp\bin;c:\djgpp\lib;c:\djgpp\emu387;c:\joe;c:\djgpp\gnu
SET DFPROG=C:\DATAFLEX
SET TEMP=C:\TEMP
set go32=driver c:\djgpp\drivers\vga.grd gw 1024 gh 768
set tz = eet-9eedt
set djgpp = c:/djgpp/djgpp.env
set path = c:/djgpp/bin;%path%
set tmpdir = c:/djgpp/tmp
set go32tmp = c:/djgpp/tmp
set go32= emu c:/bin/emu387
mouse\mouse

Here is my config.sys file

DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
BUFFERS=10,0
FILES=60
shell = c:\command.com c:\/e:1000/p
DOS=UMB
LASTDRIVE=E
FCBS=4,0
DEVICEHIGH /L:1,12048 =C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE

And my djgpp.env files, in the c:\djgpp directory,

#= Don't edit this line unless you move djgpp.env outside
#= of the djgpp installation directory. If you do move
#= it, set DJDIR to the directory you installed DJGPP in.

It is probably something really simple, but it has illuded me for the past 5
hours. I had to unsubscribe a few weeks back, so if this problem has been
addressed, and somehow illuded me on Mr Turnbulls archive, then I'm sorry to
waste peoples time.

TIA,

Charles.
