Are you running under CWSDPMI?  If so, it was reported to cause such 
internal errors for large C++ programs.  It seems that very large C++ 
programs cause the compiler to issue a lot of small memory allocation 
calls, which ultimately cause CWSDPMI to run out of its internal tables.
