We have used the DJGPP compiler to produce 68xxx code for an embedded
micro. If the code produced is executed from the beginning of _main()
the program 'crashes'. However, if the code execution commences after
the ___start() call (which is, presumably, the system PROLOGUE)
    ^^^
the program seems to run OK.

Does anyone know what ___start() does, why this phenomenon occurs and
how it may be circumvented ?
