What's wrong with running ``diff -c -r'' on the old and new directories?  
That's what I do, anyway.  Makes me immune to possible errors and 
omissions of whoever prepares the list you are asking for (what with the 
weird hours those persons work ;-).

IMHO, beta releases are for a small group of beta-testers who could be 
trusted to master simple chores such as comparing two distributions.
