Now the environment variables should be displayed on the screen.

"setdjgpp.bat" is a so called BATCHFILE it has some commands in it that
change the environment.
At your DOS prompt type SETDJGPP and press the ENTER key.
If you see nothing but the DOS prompt again, everything is OK. If you see an
error message,
your PATH variable is not set correctly. It should contain the directory
where the DJGPP
executables (and setdjgpp.bat) are. To learn how to change your PATH please
consult your
DOS manual.
If you want to avoid calling setdjgpp.bat each time you want to use the
compiler, you can
add the following line at the end of your autoexec.bat
call setdjgpp.bat
