Problem number one - all you did was update the compiler, which uses a new
feature you didn't get by updating the other files!  You should always get
the DJDEV200.ZIP as a bare minumim.

From your system description, I'll guess you are running under CWSDPMI.  
YOU MUST HAVE CWSDPMI BETA 9 to work with DJGPP BETA 4 (beta 7 or earlier
won't work properly, but other DPMIs should).   You must update.
The most recent CWSDPMI is on ftp.neosoft.com:/pub/users/s/sandmann

It's really important to get all the new files for this final beta and/or
the final release!
