This code has a lot of bugs in it.  In particular, a call to sbrk() by
any of the libc routines will reset the limit on DS and cause this to break.
A call to sbrk() may also move the base of the selector - so base_addr is
not a constant, etc.  See sys/nearptr.h and crt0.h for the correct way to do
this (its supported and documented in the next release).
