I found the gcc2.7.1 on DJ's site in one of the alpha directories, but

did not get it from there. Every GNU site carries the sources (2.7.1)
and recompilation is straight forward, although I don't know the
compile options DJ used. 

It takes at least 30 minutes on my 486 DX4-75 with 8 MB RAM. Well, one
of my professors told me that till one has not seen a compiler from
the inside, one does not know anything about informatics. So, there
you got it ;-)
