    A CFV might be a good idea, but I think I agree with Robert Dewar
that that day has not come quite yet.  But I thought that the mailing
list was to serve a quite different purpose, focusing on things of
interest to those doing ports and harmonizing details between like
ports.

    Maybe the mailing list name should reflect this?
