You need the maintenance releases dj112m1.zip through dj112m4.zip.

There is a separate FAQ in faq102.zip.  I didn't see that in your list
of files.  It would have answered the question about maintenance
releases.

No, many djgpp programs, including the compiler itself, work fine
under DPMI.  However, there is a method of getting at graphics video
memory which does not work under DPMI, so some djgpp graphics programs
will not work under DPMI.
